MANCHESTER UNITED'S PAY OFF TO MOURINHO REVEALED

According to SkySports, Manchester United paid £19.6m in compensation to Jose Mourinho and his backroom staff when he was sacked in December as the club have reveals.
One can say the amount was enormous but it isn’t anything compared to the progress the club has made since the departure of the self-acclaimed “special one”.

Man United that was looking down the middle of the table now is chasing the top four which the special one did not seemed to bother.
Jose Mourinho will always find a new club but the clause of failure and reward is now becoming akin to his contract deals.

WORLD NEWS: TRUMP VERSUS KIM BOAST

WHO WILL BELT THE "CATS"

This not good news to the world at this time.

Nuclear button on my desk is 'much bigger' than yours: Trump warns Kim about the size of his arsenal and how it is vastly 'more powerful' than North Korea's after despot's New Year's threat

President Trump warned North Korea Tuesday that he has access to a 'bigger & more powerful' nuclear button than Kim Jong-Un'sThe comment follows a previous taunt from Kim that 'the U.S. should know that the button for nuclear weapons is on my table' in his New Year's address

  • President Donald Trump fired off a warning tweet to North Korea Tuesday night, taunting leader Kim Jong Un who said in his New Year speech that Americans should be aware he has a 'button' for nuclear weapons.Trump warned the hermit country: 'North Korean Leader Kim Jong-Un just stated that the ''Nuclear Button is on his desk at all times.'' Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!'The threat came after an annual speech given by Kim, in which he cautioned: 'The U.S. should know that the button for nuclear weapons is on my table.'
  • Kim also warned America that it can 'never start a war against me and our country' and insisted his nukes are now a reality, not a threat.
Meanwhile the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, warned North Korea on Tuesday against staging another missile test and said Washington would not take any talks between North and South Korea seriously if they did not do something to get Pyongyang to give up its nuclear weapons.
Haley told reporters the United States was hearing reports that North Korea might be preparing to fire another missile.
'I hope that doesn't happen. But if it does, we must bring even tougher measures to bear against the North Korean regime,' Haley said.
A U.S. official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said there were indications that could point towards a potential missile launch 'sooner rather than later,' but cautioned that such signs had been seen in the past and no test had resulted.

NIGERIA: Rivers bloodbath: My husband, kids brought out of house, shot dead

The horror of the New Year’s Day killings in Omoku, Rivers State was relived yesterday.
A woman, Prophetess Comfort Ordu, recounted how her husband and three children were shot to death. She said the gunmen invited them out of their home and shot them.
Governor Nyesom Wike, during a visit to the community, was told that 17 people were killed by the gunmen.
Caretaker Chairman of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, where Omoku is located,  Mr. Osi Olisa, received the governor and his delegation. He confirmed the number of the dead as 17.
The names of some of those murdered were given as: Favour Odili, Saviour Amirinze, Augustine Ordu, Precious Ordu, Wisdom Ordu, Jennifer Ohia, Innocent Ohia, Reuben Idogu, Baby Idogu, Ngozi Ogbuanukwu, Oyi Ogadinma, Nwagaego Ogadinma and Uche Onige.
With the governor were Brig.-Gen. A.A Bande; Col. M.N Madi; Deputy Police Commissioner Ahmed Magaji, and Department of State Services (DSS) Director-General Mr. Tosin Ajayi.
Wike said anybody connected to the killings would have his property forfeited to the government.
Wike announced N200 million reward for information that could lead to the arrest of the killers.
The governor led the State Security Council on a fact-finding/sympathy visit to the families of the victims of the Omoku massacre.
He also visited the injured in the hospital as well as the home of a former militant leader. He visited  the scene of the crime, where he received briefings from Police Area Commander Mike Nwafor  and the home of wanted cultist, Mr. Igwedibia Johnson, aka Don Waney, where he (the governor) lauded the security agencies for working hard to improve security.
“We have placed a N200 million bounty for relevant information  that will lead to the arrest of all those involved in the unfortunate act of violence.
“Anybody who is connected to the crime in any way will have his/her houses forfeited to the government. This place (Omoku) has been peaceful before this unfortunate mayhem.
“We will not allow another case of this violence. We have mobilised the security agencies to take the battle to the perpetrators.”
Wike also insisted that all the persons linked to the Omoku violence would face the law.
He said: “You cannot shed innocent blood and go free. We are working with all the security agencies to do everything  possible to arrest the perpetrators. They must pay for this.”
The governor also commiserated with the families of the deceased. He said the government would support them in burying their loved ones, promising that his administration would settle the medical bills of the injured.
Wike said: “I am pained by this unfortunate mayhem. Enough is enough.”
Abe, who is a former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), yesterday in a press statement by his spokesperson, Parry Benson, also condoled with the families of the victims, the Orashi region and the entire people of the state.
He is worried  over the resurfacing of violent crimes in Omoku and its environs. He urged the government to assist security agencies with the tools to tackle the state’s challenges.
The senator said: “The killings in Omoku are an indication that all is not well with the security network of the state. The Rivers government should assist security agencies with the needed tools to tackle the rising state of insecurity.
“The incident (Omoku massacre) is condemnable and should be condemned by every right-thinking resident of the state. Rivers communities should not be allowed to become haven for blood-thirsty hoodlums.
“Rivers government must drastically re-engineer the security architecture and funding, to fight crime and stop the endless waste of human lives.”

NIGERIA: 2 pregnant women deliver as military free 700 persons from Boko Haram captivity

2 Pregnant women deliver as military free 700 persons from Boko Haram captivity.
The Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 8 Division, Col. Timothy Antigha, disclosed in a statement issued in Maiduguri.
Antigha said that over 700 persons abducted by Boko Haram insurgents had escaped from their captors and received by the 242 Battalion, Monguno.
He said the abductees including males, females and children were forced to work as farm labourers by the insurgents.
He said that two women among the freed persons delivered safely at the holding facility.
The army spokesman added that the intensified onslaught against the insurgents under Operation Deep Punch II had weakened and decimated their positions, which enabled the persons to escape.
“Over 700 farmers, fishermen and members of their families hitherto held by Boko Haram terrorists as farm workers have fled the various islands in Lake Chad to Monguno.
“The exodus of the abductees is not unconnected to a follow-up operation conducted a few days ago to exploit the gains of the recent successful Operation DEEP PUNCH 2 in Chikun Gudu and adjourning localities.
“The follow-up operation conducted by the Nigerian Air Force and 38 Task Force Artillery Brigade, 8 Division, Operation LAFIYA DOLE, was targeted at destroying Boko Haram infrastructure and logistics such as communication centers, fabrication yards, bomb making equipment, vehicles and other means of sustenance.
“The ensuing collapse of their command structure and means of survival triggered the abandonment of the islands and escape of the abductees to Monguno.
“Profiling of the displaced escapees is ongoing to ensure that no terrorist takes advantage of the situation to sneak into the town.
“Preliminary investigation will focus on finding out where wanted Boko Haram commanders were hiding. Two pregnant women among the abductees gave birth yesterday in the holding centers”.
According to him, several persons were freed from Boko Haram insurgents following military offensive in Chikun Gudu community, Monguno.
